The Master’s Program in Psychiatric Nursing started education in 2017- 2018. The duration of the program is 2 years including 1 year of coursework and 1 year of thesis. The language of the program is Turkish.
To be able to carry out activities towards the psychological problems of the society and the individual through researches made using scientific knowledge in the light of ethical principles.
To educate nurses who are equipped with advanced knowledge, understanding and skills in order to protect and improve the mental health of individuals, families and society, to improve and give care to individuals with mental disorders.
Aim of the Program
The aim of the Master's Program in Psychiatric Nursing is to educate nurses who are equipped with advanced knowledge, understanding and skill to apply national and international literature knowledge to the needs of the country in order to protect and improve the mental health of the individual, family and society, to improve and treat individuals with mental disorders and to care for them in the society.
It is aimed for students to develop and maintain the mental health of individuals, to develop current knowledge, concepts and principles for the treatment, care and rehabilitation of individuals with mental problems, to develop evidence-based care understanding by comprehending the basic roles and responsibilities of psychiatric nurses, to evaluate the general and mental health of individuals in a comprehensive manner, to gain the ability to plan and apply the care specific to individuals with mental disorders and to develop psychosocial practice, training and research skills in the field of psychiatric nursing.
