  1. About the Program

Research on the production of new knowledge in the fields of science and technology is carried out mainly in the basic sciences of universities, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology departments. Basic sciences have been at the center of industrial and technological innovations with their research and education.

Today, physics is full of new developments that make life easier for people in all areas of life. Research in physics is the starting point of engineering and technology. Many fields such as electronics, materials science and the development of many devices used in medicine have begun with studies in physics.

The aim of the idea of opening the master's program of physics engineering department is to reworkable the basic sciences by adding a new perspective to physics and science with the innovative vision of production-based engineering models by realistically taking into account the reasons for the closure of the physics programs that have started to close due to various reasons in our country.

With this Graduate Program, it is aimed to educate scientists who have the competence and experience to solve today's problems from a technical and engineering perspective and to contribute to the goal of increasing the ratio of R & D personnel to population to the level of EU countries.

Istanbul Medeniyet University Physics Engineering Graduate Program; aims to train entrepreneurial and innovative R & D personnel where engineering products based on basic sciences will be realized through projects. It is aimed that the trained personnel will be technology producing staff directly through incubation centers and technoparks.

  1. Admission Requirements

Admission of students to the program will be carried out in accordance with the requirements specified in the Regulation on Graduate Education and training published in the Official Newspaper dated January 13, 2012 and numbered 28172 of Istanbul Medeniyet University.

  1. Program Qualifications

Our graduates will be able to work on project basis with their sensitivity to technological developments and problems simultaneously with the world, which can make research on multidisciplinary subjects and announce the results of their research through both oral and written scientific studies.

It is expected that our graduates will be able to offer solutions to the existing problems by gaining experience in the project and transferring the trained brain power that industry increasingly needs to the service of the country.

Since the program deals with the problems covered by mathematics, engineering and physics, our graduates can work in all R & D departments that require practice and even continue their academic careers by obtaining a PhD.

Graduate students in Physics Engineering will have an advanced level of expertise in the fields of Science in which they work and will gain depth in these fields throughout their professional career.

In addition, after completing this program, it is aimed that our students will be able to coordinate, determine and direct the studies based on R & D as a priority.

Another concrete outcome of the proposed program is that our graduates have the knowledge and motivation required by PhD education academically.

  1. Curriculum

  1. Graduation Requirements

Graduates will be graduated in accordance with the Regulation on Graduate Education at Istanbul Medeniyet University. A total of seven courses and a seminar are required to be successful. In addition, an original thesis must be prepared and presented in front of the jury and graduated with a total score of 120 AKTS.

Universities, research institutes, industrial enterprises of R & D (research and Development) Labs, software, machine learning, big data, computer and electronic materials design and production, special manufacture and calibration of measuring instruments, quality control units, radiology and nuclear medicine departments of hospitals (health physics), medical physics, communication industry, optic business, energy business.
