Management

1) About the Program

 The primary purpose of this master program, which is designated especially for individuals who aim to have an academic career in the related disciplines of management science is to help students generate academic knowledge through carrying out scientific research and papers and to enable them to analyze and interpret this knowledge in a way to contribute and add value to society. Furthermore, it is also aimed to provide contemporary knowledge and abilities that participants, who do not wish to pursue an academic career, could utilize in their existing career path or career plans.

2) Admission Requirements

Students, who are to be accepted to the program held in Turkish, are required to fulfill ALES and foreign proficiency exam requirements determined by the department and to hold an undergraduate degree.  

3) Program Outcomes

  1. Be able to prepare a research proposal and implement this proposal by producing functional research designs,
  2. Be able to review local and foreign literature, and carry out a scientific research,
  3. Be authentic and contribute to science in studies related to management disciplines,
  4. Have knowledge about the fundamental stages of a scientific research process and contemporary methods and approaches to be undertaken in these stages,
  5. Have a good command of basic quantitative decision-making techniques necessary in the research process and can effectively use the software programs regarding those techniques,
  6. Approach critically to knowledge and abilities provided, through evaluating them within the framework of theories and concepts learned,
  7. Have the fundamental and up-to-date knowledge on relevant management disciplines,
  8.  Have knowledge regarding the relationships and interactions between business operations and economic system, and be able to comment on the probable effects of those operations on economic system,
  9. Be able to specialize in areas such as accounting, finance, management and organization, and production and marketing related to management,
  10. Be aware of the interactions among management disciplines, and be able to foresee probable results of business decisions,
  11. Have consciousness about acting in accordance with vocational and general ethical rules.

5) Curriculum

Students, who successfully completed the courses of the first two semesters and took the seminar course, are expected to prepare and successfully defend a thesis in the following semesters.

6) Graduation Requirements

Students, who have been admitted to the program, are required to complete courses that worth 24 credits and take the non-credit seminar course. In this program, which normally takes 4 semesters to complete, students are expected to prepare and successfully defend a thesis following the successful completion of the courses in the first two semesters. The maximum duration allowed to graduate from the program is 6 semesters; whereas students, who cannot successfully complete their courses in the first 4 semesters, are exmatriculated.

7) Employment Opportunities

Graduates of the program first have the chance to pursue an academic career at public or foundational universities. They can also work as middle or high level managers in public and private sector organizations related to such departments as finance, auditing, quality assurance, marketing, public and customer relations, and human resources.
