1.) About the Program
Private Law is one of the fastest-going fields in the science of law. In addition to general fields such as Civil Law, Commercial Law and Private International Law; in the fields focusing on more specific issues like Banking and Insurance Law, Consumer Law, Competition Law and Intellectual Property were also developed in recent years. These developments experienced in the mentioned areas in national and international law, also indicates that upcoming years will the economic aspect of the will be popular. It has emerged the need to educate jurists who have the necessary theoretical environment on this subject concerning private Law, to conduct research and to be able to produce original scientific works. With the training to be given on this subject, it is possible to solve the legal point of view, logic and justice in the future from the legal point of view of young lawyers. The Private Law PhD Program aims to train lawyers and academics who are experts in the field of compliance with this aim.
2.) Terms of Acceptance
In order to apply to the PhD program; the candidates must have Master degrees from the universities in Turkey or from abroad (whose equivalency is accepted by YÖK) which are recommended by the Graduate School Department and approved by the Executive Board of the Institute. Also they must have scored at least 60 standard point in ALES exam and equivalent score accepted by the University Senate from GRE or GMAT exams. In addition, YDS and YÖKDİL must have at least 60 points in English proficiency exams.
As a rule, candidates who have a Master's Degree with a Private Law Thesis can apply to the Private Law PhD Program. Candidates who have graduated from different Master programs may be given compulsory scientific preparation courses, provided that they do not exceed an academic year, provided that the Institute Board of Directors considers the opinion of the relevant department.

5.) Graduation Requirements
The courses specified and credit system will be applied in order to obtain doctoral qualification degree. PhD students are required to take at least 8 courses, totalling 24 credits and 90 ECTS. Seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful.
As of the beginning of the semester, the student has to register for the thesis and the specialization course opened by the supervisor. The area of specialization is non-credit and is conducted according to the principles determined by the University Senate.
