Program Information
Although perceived as a modern concept, the practice and the theory of International Relations (IR) have a long history. The nation-states, the globalization process and the new concepts and phenomena it has brought up have pushed the boundaries of the IR discipline outwards. Hence, the discipline has evolved out of politics and expanded itself over economic, socio-cultural and legal bases. Today, the scholars and practitioners in this area all endeavor for a more coherent and peaceful understanding of the global developments as they emerge. Taking all these into account, the master’s program of IR in Istanbul Medeniyet University provides a multi-disciplinary approach to the higher education of International Relations that will equip the participants of the program with specialized knowledge and skills to be utilized in their professions.
