As of June 01, 2020, exams such as Master's and PhD Thesis Defense, PhD Thesis Progress and PhD Qualifying Exams are accepted in the "Procedures and Principles for the Application of Remote Exams" accepted at the session of our University Senate dated 14.05.2020 and numbered 2020/09 will be held on the digital platform within the scope of the exam types specified in the decision.
1) Phd qualifying exams will take place in two stages as a written and oral exam, which includes openended questions as per the regulation. Students who have passed the written exam before will be subjected only to the oral exam.
2) Candidates who are required to take the thesis defense and Phd qualifying examsin the spring semester must be submitted until 31 October 2020, for the defense and document submission.
3) For the PhD qualification written exam, open-ended questions are sent to the Turnitin program in Word format by answering open-ended questions at least 30 minutes before the exam time announced using ÖBS, E-mail, ALMS or Edmodo learning management system and e-mail must be sent to the advisor and the jury members simultaneously via e-mail.
4) Students who will take the exam will be notified by e-mail at least 1 week in advance, the date and time of the exam, the duration of the exam, how to share the exam questions with the students, and in which way and until when the students will submit the exam answer sheet. In this e-mail, in order to ensure the security of the exam, the rules to be followed and the points to be considered while answering the questions will be specified. In case of plagiarism or ethical violation of the student, this situation will be evaluated as a copy and criminal proceedings will be applied according to the regulations.
5) During the answering of the written exam, research assistants can also be provided to proctor the student on-line, if necessary.
6) The oral exam, which is the second stage of the proficiency exam, is ALMS, Google Meeting, Zoom etc. will be carried out through programs. Zoom etc. opened by the head of the department or any instructor. The jury members and the students to be examined will be invited to the meeting by sending the password and the students will answer the questions of the jury members. The oral exam will be recorded, thereby ensuring the accountability and transparency of the exam.
7) Oral exam results will be reported to students at the end of the exam.
8) Under the responsibility of the advisor, all written and oral stages of the exams will be recorded on the digital platform, and information and documents will be preserved.
9) In oral exams such as Thesis Suggestion Defense, Thesis Monitoring and Master / Doctorate Thesis Defense, video oral exam sessions will be held and recorded with students from ALMS, Google Meeting or Zoom.
10) Jury members who participate in the exams such as Master's and PhD Thesis Defense, PhD Thesis Progress and PhD Qualifying must fill the relevant forms (documents / forms) informing their exam decisions and take a picture of the copy they have signed. The following days the original (wet signature) form of the sent form should be sent to the advisor by the post / courier.
11) Consultant faculty member; will send the signed copies of the jury members and himself, together with the registration information / link on the digital platform, to the head of the department where the student is registered.
12) Head of Department must submit the exam registration information and documents, the forms and documents of each jury member with a wet signature, to the Institute within 10 working days following the exam date by adding it to the attachment of the letter of the letter (student and exam information must be included in the article) for each student.
